Broth is a good base for all types of soup – and it’s an affordable way to use up the remaining vegetables in your fridge. This workshop will show you how to make a couple of basic soup stocks (vegetable and chicken) and give you some suggestions for soups to make with it. We’ll pair the soups with quick and easy cracker recipes that will have you slurping and crunching in no time!

Come and learn how to make fresh egg pasta from scratch with ease. This is a hands-on pasta making workshop where you will learn the basic techniques for making dough and cutting pasta. We will also experiment with different ways to add nutrition to your home-made pasta, from whole grains to vegetable purees. Taste our fresh creations paired with delicious sauces and even take a bag of pasta home!

This year we will make a new assortment of edibles that can be nicely packaged
as holiday gifts. This workshop is about learning to bake/cook nutritious treats
while reducing our consumption of “stuff” during the holiday season. Together
we will share creative ideas, cook delicious goodies, and do lots of tasting!

The Withrow Park Farmers’ Market is moving indoors for the winter! Find us on Tuesdays, 3-7 p.m., starting November 6, at the Danforth Church (60 Bowden St. at Danforth). There will be fresh Ontario farmed products (winter veg, meat, eggs and more), prepared foods (cheese, baked goods, ready to eat foods and more), and weekly kids crafts.
